Sphere Exhibits, the exhibition arm of Singapore’s largest and most influential newspaper and publishing company, Singapore Press Holdings, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with UBM Trust Co. Ltd, based in Guangzhou, China.
Sphere Exhibits has organised BuildTech Asia in Singapore for the past 8 years. BuildTech Asia has a solid grounding and attracts regional visitors comprising of architects, property developers, facilities management and more. For 2020 Sphere will include an Indonesian edition of BuildTech Asia.
Indonesia is one of Southeast Asia’s largest economy with nearly 400 cities. With a population of 248 million, Indonesia is the most populous nation in Southeast Asia. The Indonesia Smart City Masterplan known as the “Movement Toward 100 Smart Cities” — is the national vision towards a Smart Nation. The three pioneers of Smart City development are Jakarta, Surabaya, and Bandung. The construction of the smart and green buildings in Indonesia is projected to reach up to 25% of
the market by 2025.
“Indonesia promises huge potential where infrastructure is concerned,” said Chua Wee Pong, Chairman, Sphere Exhibits. “For Indonesia, we also decided to organise and co-locate the inaugural Digital Architecture Asia (DAA) Indonesia exhibition. DAA complements BuildTech Asia perfectly. Once buildings are up they need to consider lighting, visual information displays, security cameras, control rooms and PA systems which are the type of solutions that will be exhibited at DAA. By co-
locating the exhibition we are offering visitors to the exhibition a unique platform of not only seeing solutions related to building solutions and materials but critical solutions that complement buildings.” UBM Trust organises the world’s largest LED China exhibitions in Shenzhen and Shanghai each year.
The MoU recognises that UBM Trust will bring potential Chinese manufacturers of LEDs and Digital Signage solutions to the Digital Architecture Asia Indonesia edition exhibition.
Mr Chua adds, “I am pleased to announce the exciting partnership between the Digital Architecture Asia Indonesia and LED China, offering us tremendous opportunities to introduce more state-of-the-art technologies to transform the Indonesia city skyline. We are confident that through this strategic collaboration between Digital Architecture Asia Indonesia, LED CHINA and BuildTech Asia Indonesia, we can offer the most comprehensive array of advanced products, services and innovative solutions across the entire building lifecycle to accelerate Indonesia’s 100 Smart Cities Vision.”
Mr David Tang, Managing Director, UBM Trust Co., Ltd comments, “Most LED manufacturers are based out of China. Digital Architecture Asia Indonesia offers good business potential for these manufacturers due to the dynamism of Indonesia’s infrastructure plans. We are pleased to partner Sphere Exhibits in creating a unique platform to showcase a varied range of solutions that would benefit visitors’ knowledge.”
Sphere Exhibits is also pleased to inform that Spinworkz Pte Ltd and UnUsUaL Productions Pte Ltd are collaborating partners for Digital Architecture Asia. Digital Architecture Asia Indonesia and BuildTech Asia Indonesia will be held from the 15 – 17 July 2020 at ICE, Jakarta.
